Tours and Programs of the 2011 Year of Russian-Italian Cultural Cooperation
DESCRIPTION

During the 2011 Year of Russian-Italian Cultural Cooperation, RUS ART acted as the coordinator of all appearances in Russia by the program’s Italian participants.

In the course of the year, some of the finest Italian theatrical, dance and musical ensembles and individual artists performed in Russia. Among them were:

  • Stars of Italian opera - Patrizia Ciofi, Anna Bonitatibus, Rossana Potenza, Francesco Zingariello, Mauro Augustini, Anna Maria Ferrante, Louis Solomon, Elena Cilio, Tiziana Caruso, Stefania Scolastici, Gianluca Zampieri, Sergio Bologna and Carmelo Corrado Caruso; 
  • Conductors – Luciano Acocella, Leonardo Quadrini, Marco Boido and Stefano Seghedoni; 
  • Instrumentalists - Fabio Costantino, Roberto Ciotti, Pino di Vittorio, Marcello Vitale and Franco D'Andrea. 
  • Theatrical ensembles and schools - Teatro Sotterraneo (Florence), Teatro Opera (Cesena), Teatro Persona (Civitavecchia), La Baracca (Bologna), Teatro della Buratto (Milan), Teatro “Scena Verticale” (Castrovillari), Teatro della Briciolle (Parma), Teatro della Sete (Udine), Teatro Ragazzi e Giovani (Turin); Teatro all improvisso (Mantua) and the Silvio d'Amico National Academy of Dramatic Arts; 
  • Young Italian directors - Cristina Belgioioso, Mario D'Avino and Luca Rodella. 
  • Musical ensembles - Orchestra Popolare Italiana Auditorium Parco della Musica, Alter Ego, Xenia, the Neapolis Ensemble and Orchestra Sinfonica Europa Musica. 
  • Ballet companies - Fabula Saltica Dance Company, Company Zerogrammi, Company Virgilio Sieni, Company Santasangre and Artemis Danza Monica Casadei; 
  • Italian teachers of contemporary, modern and jazz dance - Silvia Martiradonna, Antonio Bissiri, Erika Silgoner and Federica Scuto.

From March to December 2011, RUS ART was involved in the presentation of more than 90 events in Russia, including concerts, stage performances, master classes, readings and performances of Italian plays and roundtables.

The program extended to more than 17 regions of the Russian Federation. Appearances by the participants took place in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yaroslavl, Petrozavodsk, Vladikavkaz, Kostroma, Ufa, Yekaterinburg, Perm, Tyumen, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Izhevsk, Penza, Ulan-Ude, Chelyabinsk, Cheboksary and Salekhard.

Partners of RUS ART in the program included the Mariinsky Academy of Young Singers, the State Theater of Opera and Ballet of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, the Chelyabinsk State Concert Association, the Moscow State Philharmonic Society and the Moscow State Conservatory.
