From October 21 to November 7, 2013, a tour of the world's best folk dance ensemble - the State Igor Moiseyev ensemble of folk dance – took place. The geography of the tours spanned 7 cities in 4 States of Mexico. The tour was organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
The first performance of the I.Moiseyev Ensemble was 23 October 2013 in framework of the 41st International Cervantino Festival on an open venue with 2000 spectators in the center of the city of Guanajuato, the cultural center of Mexico.
The concert program included the best dance from the Ensemble's repertoire. Fireworks of colorful costumes, dance and music impressed the Mexican public. The audience enthusiastically greeted the artists and thanked them for unforgettable performance with loud applause.
The Igor Moiseyev Ensemble’s tour continued in neighbouring towns.
26 October a charity concert for the population affected by natural disasters took place in the city of Pachuca (centre of the state of Hidalgo),
29 October 29 the Igor Moiseyev Ensemble performed in the theatre of the Plaza Expiatorio, with 1800 seats, city of Leon;
31 October they performed in the town of Valle de Bravo - on the open stage for 1500 persons, then the company went to the biggest city of the Yucatan peninsula - Merida. The artists performed in the best theatre of the city – Teatro Jose Peon Contreras which attracted about 2,000 spectators .
From the very beginning of each performance the audience warmly welcomed the Russian artists. Each concert was accompanied by a positive response in the media.
The tour ended with a triumphant concert of the Igor Moiseyev Ensemble in the Concert hall of the Auditorio Nacional Miguel Hidalgo, in Mexico city, with 7000 spectators. The event was attended by Mr. Sergey R. Malayan, Ambassador of the Russian Federation, by artists, producers and, of course, by the Legendary Usniversal Mexican actress Sonya Amelio, last year she was touring in Russia and took greetings of the Igor Moiseev Ensemble.
It would be important to note that the company didn’t tour in Mexico during 37 years, in spite of that, the Igor Moiseyev Ensemble’s concert tour was held with a huge success.
