Since 2011, the Production company «RUSSIAN ART» implements the Programme of exchange of cultural events between Russia and the Republic of South Ossetia. The programme is aimed at the representation of different genres of contemporary performing and musical art of Russia in South Ossetia, and at the acquaintance of the Russian audience with modern and national art of South Ossetia as well.
The Programme includes concerts, theatrical and educational events with participation of leading artistic companies and soloists of both States.
Held in South Ossetia and in Russia events accompany important political calendar dates in both States. The celebration of the Day of Russia in South Ossetia is traditionally accompanied by a concert. Annually on 8 August performances of the Russian S.V. Rakhmaninov Symphony orchestra, conductor - People's Artist of Russia SERGEY Politicov, take place on the Church square of Tskhinval in framework of the action of sorrow “Living light of memory”of those fallen during the Georgian aggression in 2008. This day the performance of the orchestra on the square is very symbolic: after all, the Gergiev’s Symphony orchestra gave the first concert in memory of the fallen and for those who would revive the Republic in August 2008.
For three years of the realization of the Programme by the Production company «RUS ART», more than 20 events in South Ossetia and Russia were held by RUS ART, performances of the Russian folk groups «Kalina Krasnaya», folk-rock group «Yarilov Heat» finalists of the “Factor A” show, ensemble «Neva star», group «discomafia», master classes of makeup and stage movement by teachers of leading Russian high theater schools were also held. State ensemble of song and dance of South Ossetia «SIMD», State national Ê.Khetagourov’s, drama theatre, modern popular performers Nina Gatikoeva, Vano Bekoev from South Ossetia were presented In Russia.
The demand for cultural events among Russian and South Ossetian audience shows the need the practice of exchange activities to be also continued next years, for increasing public interest in culture and history of the country-partner.
