Performance of the "Neva star" band in the framework the Programme of cultural cooperation between Russia and South Ossetia
May 9, the celebratory events dedicated to the Victory Day, which traditionally began with a parade, took place in Tskhinvali. The parade was opened with solemn march of the Banner group of military honor guard of South Ossetia. Then, troops of the Ministry of Defense of South Ossetia FSS Border Troops of the Russian Federation in the Republic of South Ossetia, the Border Service of the KGB of South Ossetia, students of the Tskhinvali Cadet Corps marched through the central square of Tskhinvali.
The parade was also attended by a military equipment being in service in the Armed Forces of South Ossetia. The parade was also attended by Mr Leonid Tibilov President of South Ossetia and representatives of official bodies of the Republic, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, as well as Mr Elbrus Kargiev Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of South Ossetia, Mr Alexander Shushukin commander of the 4th Russian military base and Mr Valery Reznichenko head of border of the FSB of Russia in South Ossetia.

The same day gala concert a with the artistic companies and soloists of the Republic of South Ossetia held at the Central Square. In the evening the premiere of the play dedicaded to the heroism of the family Gazdanova took place in the sovprom building where South Ossetian national theater temporarily placed. Seven sons of the family were killed in the war.

The culmination of the concert was the performance of the Russian group "Neva stars." from St. Petersburg. The audience listened to the song "Blue Handkerchief" with a special thrill. The songs "Senior Lieutenant", the much-loved "Robin" and "Soldier walking through the city." are not left untouched neither.
As a final, Russian and South Ossetian artists sang "Victory Day" and the Tskhinvali sky was illuminated with a grand festive fireworks display.
